Yael Stone, a native of Australia and living in New York City in 2013 in the film, played Lorna Mello as a prisoner In Orange Is the New Black. Yael has graduated from NIDA. At a very young age, Yael has been lucky enough to work with some of Australia's top storytellers, stars of performance and visionaries behind the scenes in films, television and theatre. Yael's professional career is thriving in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael decided to make New York City her home after her role in the Brooklyn Academy of Music produced this critically-acclaimed show. Yael co-founded The Cannery. It is located in a Bushwick Brooklyn studio, they support new artistic writings, and are a source of inspiration for new thinking.
